Bea leads the science and agricultural strategy, bringing together molecular biology, AI systems architecture and plant biology.
She is developing an Adaptive Genetics program that combines data-driven selection, epigenetic insight and Portuguese terroir to guide cultivation decisions.
CTO & Co-Founder
João brings the infrastructure and industrial-systems expertise needed to scale agricultural operations.
As former CTO of Aquaterra, he led the engineering team behind a real-time platform handling IoT sensors, GPS tracking and aerial imaging under GlobalGAP certification. He is now Engineering Manager at Frulact and its parent group Nexture. All three are agri-food companies.
He also built irrigation control from scratch, coordinating pumps, generators, filters, mixers and sensor data across 200-hectare production units.
Between them, the systems to run a farm at scale and the biology to know what the sensors are looking at.
Our name carries the memory of a local signal: foresight, courage, and preparation at the exact moment they matter most.
An old legend from the Serra do Caramulo tells of a woman who stood watch from a hilltop, looking for approaching enemies. When danger appeared she sounded her horn, her tone, alerting the soldiers below and giving her people time to prepare.
Her foresight turned the tide, and the settlement took her name: tom dela, her tone. Tondela.
That is what Siren is named for. Seeing it coming, and acting early.
